Doctors Interview Oral Cancer Survivor Elly Brown
April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month. The American Cancer Society estimates that over 60,000 people will develop oral cancer in 2025. It is very important to see us at Caring Smiles at least twice a year for oral cancer screenings during your dental checkups.
Dr. Warren and Dr. May had the opportunity a few years ago to interview the inspirational, Elly Brown, on their What Are You More Than podcast.
Elly is an all-around performer who started her career singing, acting, modeling, and hosting. She was living her dream, but everything changed during a routine visit to her dentist. Elly was diagnosed with oral cancer and had to have an aggressive surgery to remove it.
In spite of her scars and altered voice, Elly is determined to continue following her dreams. Through her Facebook and YouTube videos, she inspires others with physical challenges to do the same.
